Powerboating

RIB underway

RIB at speed

The type of Powerboat we use is 6 metre RIB, which in a previous life was used in the North Sea as a rescue boat from the oil rigs. This type of boat has an inflatable tube around the solid hull of the boat. RIB is a shortened version of Rigid Inflatable Boat. Because of the tubes, the boats are unsinkable and very safe. "Vision" will carry up to 6 adults on individual seats, set out in 2 rows of 3 seats, side by side. You sit astride, rather like sitting on a motorcycle seat.
Vision is powered by two Yamaha 50 horse power outboards.

Vison is fully certified by the Marine Coastguard Agency to carry passengers and by the Royal Yachting Association for use as a training vessel
